Digital WHAT..?

The first reaction on many of our faces.  It took me a while to pronounce it correctly, and after that, some research followed.

Digital Pedagogy refers to teaching and learning by making use of technology.  As technology develops every day, I believe there is no certain or definite way of using digital pedagogy.  A teacher therefore must adapt to his/her lessons in such a way to accomodate the development of technology.

In a prescribed article, Fyfe (2011) stated that for you in order to be a “digital humanist”, you do not need a computer.  I feel you don’t need technology and digital equipment in order to engage with the students/learners in front of you.  Don’t rely on digital tools to make your task easier.  Teachers should be able to make use of different teaching styles, because as technology changes, your use of digital equipment and way of teaching should adapt.  The same type of source may become boring to the learners / students and you may lose their interest.

Teachers should inspire them to become critical thinkers and be creative in different fields of learning.  The digital side may help them to deliver better work by using better ways of doing research and expand their knowledge.

Taking out the advantage of digital pedagogy, we as teachers can help learners to become the better future of tomorrow.
